PHASE 03
Equity-Centered Evaluation
In Phase 3 of our Curriculum Mapping and Development program, faculty will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of equity-centered evaluation principles and practices. Utilizing the curriculum mapping and development experience, faculty will evaluate the impact of their implemented curriculum course experience and success outcomes. This experience will equip faculty with the tools and knowledge necessary to implement equity-centered evaluation strategies within their courses.
Step 01
Equity-Minded Sensemaking
We start off this phase by setting you up for success with engagement in equity-minded sensemaking practices. Our kickoff will be used to assess your needs and knowledge, identify and schedule professional development needs, and ensure baseline data is collected.
Step 02
Initial Data Analysis
Faculty will collaborate in groups with IETC support to organize and, when possible, disaggregate data gathered in Phase 2. This process will enable faculty to engage in equity-minded analysis of baseline course outcomes, implemented changes from Phase 2, and the resulting data.
Step 03
Equity-Centerd Evaluation Principles
You will have opportunities during this phase to review and engage with evidence-based research on equity-centered evaluation principles.
Step 04
Critical Reflection
Faculty, with IETC support, will collaboratively and critically evaluate the impact of their current curricula. Reflection exercises will offer opportunities to compare course policies, assess teaching practices, course materials, and assessments through an equity lens, and solicit feedback from students and colleagues.
Utilizing the tools, education, and strategies provided throughout the CM&D program, faculty will present their findings on potential evaluation and assessment strategies for their current curricula, as well as key elements that foster a welcoming and safe environment for students and colleagues.
